All up during production and then post production 23 people directly contributed to One Moment, with a further 25 people as extras during the club/bar scenes, and then countless others at the agencies and businesses we dealt with. After production, we took a couple of months to refine the edit (courtesy of Aleck the film editor), compose the music (original music by Kent), colour grade and sound mix. I wasn’t working to any specific deadline, and as most of us were working fulltime we took our time finishing One Moment. It did get to a point where I set a date for the cast and crew screening, it was when we were almost finished, like any artwork there are always refinements you can make (nothing is ever 100% done), but it helped having that end date locked in so that we had to have the film done by then. It was also the date where I said no more refinements, what we had at the 18th of July was the final final product. Massive thanks to the following: Aleck for his editing and sound design work (wouldn’t have been the same without you); Kent for his amazing music score (and patience); Jimmy for allowing us usage of your music track; Rory for some great sound mixing and Good Audio Sense for allowing us to use your studio; Patrick for your colour grade at the last minute and for doing a fine job; Kali for helping me with the design of the poster; and Kris for your great help and work on the credits and this website –which looks great.
I held the screening at Skinny Dog in Kew, and invited a select few people that were directly involved with the film or who had a strong interest. The crowd was great, just the right number of people, and I was truly humbled by the positive response. Seeing the film for the first time in front of an audience was a great experience and it’s the reason why we make films. One Moment gets to grow and develop on its own now, and hopefully it won’t be too long until it’s accepted into a film festival somewhere and gets a full screening, keep a look out on the site for updates and I’ll be sure to let you know. Now, back to the notepad to start jotting down ideas for the next project, finishing One Moment has me motivated again.
